IstanbulLight 2018 Brightens Up The Youth and Future

IstanbulLight has taken its place among the supporters of ‘A Bright Future, Future with Youth’ project. The social responsibility project of which foundations were laid at IstanbulLight Fair in 2017 brings the Art students of Fine Arts High School and Electronic students of Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Balıkesir together. The project aims to raise qualified professionals who will create future’s LED designs and systems with the synergy of the fields of esthetics and technic. The success achieved in the first year of the project and future objectives will be presented to the sector at the fair.

Having organized several pioneering fairs primarily including the 11th IstanbulLight International Lighting and Electrical Equipment Fair and Congress, UBM EMEA has decided to sponsor ‘A Bright Future, Future with Youth’ project. To be held between 19 and 22 September 2018 at İstanbul Fair Center, IstanbulLight 2018 will take up a pioneering role in the development of the project.

Commenced with the aim of bringing competent professionals to the lighting sector which has become one of the locomotive sectors in Turkey with a stable growth, ‘A Bright Future, Future with Youth’ project attained a critical success in one year. Within the scope of the project, Art Students of T.C. Ziraat Bankası Fine Arts High School and Electronic Students of İMKB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Balıkesir are getting the opportunity of development in technic and esthetics in the field of lighting through cross-trainings. Developing their projects with the support of their teachers, the students are encouraged to actualize their lighting ideas of future.

Stating that the very vital need for equipped professionals in the sector has found a concrete solution with ‘A Bright Future, Future with Youth’ project, UBM EMEA IstanbulLight Brand Director Mehmet Dükkancı says, “As the world is rapidly changing with new-age technologies, we know that the biggest need is professionals who will invent innovations with these technologies. It also applies for the lighting sector. Especially with the LED lighting systems, the need for professionals who have the esthetic and technical knowledge is rapidly increasing. ‘A Bright Future, Future with Youth’ project that was started in Balıkesir as a first in our country is a beacon of hope for our sector. While providing our young people with the opportunity to make a strong career, it meets the workforce need of lighting companies. The ideas and projects realized by the students in the first year are promising. We believe that the project will gain strength and grow with support of UBM EMEA. We are proud of serving both our young ones and our sector.”

Stating that they have observed the need in the sector in IstanbulLight 2017 and laid the foundations of the project,  Electronic Teacher at Balıkesir İMKB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Ahmet Keskin says, “Our project that meets an important need in the sector and provides a solution for our youngsters’ expectation of bright future has been put into practice in a short time with the support of Municipality of Karesi. Our purpose is to ensure that young students graduate with the current technological knowledge and esthetic equipment to help them find a job more easily in the future. We would like to thank all institutions that support the project and UBM IstanbulLight team, AGİD and ATMK that make it possible for us to be in the fair.
