Plan your trip to Istanbul
Its strategic location between Europe and Asia, multiple international airports, wide range of hotels and vibrant centre makes Istanbul the favourite destination of many business travelers.
Istanbul is Turkey's most populous city, and its cultural and financial center. Located on both sides of the Bosphorus, the narrow strait between the Black Sea and the Marmara Sea, Istanbul bridges Asia and Europe both physically and culturally. Istanbul's population is estimated to be between 12 and 19 million people, making it also one of the largest in Europe and the world.
Depending on nationality, some visitors arriving in Istanbul may need to purchase tourist visas, including from the USA and some EU countries.
As of May 2013, the Turkish government launched the e-Visa system to apply and pay for your visa online and print it out at home. Completing this prior to your trip will mean you can avoid waiting in line at the airport visa desk.
